The Lake Tahoe Marathon has as its
setting one of the world's most beautiful
and breathtaking scenic areas - Lake
Tahoe. And, yes, it will literally take your
breath away at the min. 6225 ft elevation!
The early October timing adds to its
spectacular possibilities with the fall color
change occurring anytime from late
September to mid-October. The rugged
backdrop for the run and myriad other
events is Mt. Tallac which generally has
snow in its reknowned "cross" year
round. During successive dry years this
landmark of white may vanish during late
summer until the next snowfall.
